Chief Shawn Morris

Chief Morris brings over 25 years of public safety experience and currently serves as a Deputy Fire Chief in Fairfield County, Connecticut. He has served as an evaluator for fire department oral boards across all ranks throughout the East Coast and has coached hundreds of candidates over the past decade. Committed to helping others succeed, he is known for his practical insight, supportive approach, and deep understanding of the fire service hiring process. Chief Morris has been certified as a Fire Marshal in Connecticut since 2007 and holds nationally recognized credentials, including IAAI Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) and NAFI Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI).

In addition to his operational leadership, Chief Morris brings significant consulting expertise. He is an organizational consultant with the strategic services division of the Emergency Services Consulting International (ESCI), the consulting arm of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, and a Senior Consultant with the Energy Safety Response Group (ESRG). He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Central Connecticut State University, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Connecticut, and is currently completing a PhD in Fire and Emergency Management at Oklahoma State University.

Lieutenant Jason Jeracka

Lieutenant Jason Jeracka brings over 21 years of experience in public safety and currently serves as a Lieutenant assigned to an Squad Company in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Throughout his career, Jason has worked extensively with a diverse group of candidates, providing guidance and coaching to help them succeed in both entry-level and promotional interviews. His experience operating in high-pressure environments has refined his skills in helping individuals effectively present themselves, manage stress, and navigate even the most challenging interview situations.


Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Siena College, which supports his strong foundation in critical thinking, discipline, and problem-solving. In addition to his fire service career, he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army National Guard, further demonstrating his leadership and commitment to service. For the past six years, he has also served as a fire service instructor with Flash Fire Industries. With a unique blend of public safety, military leadership, and educational experience, Jason offers a comprehensive and insightful approach to coaching professionals at every stage of their career.
